How to Use the Broadcasting Feature in Botassium
When you want to send messages to a specific group of people—on your own terms, with precise targeting and full control—Broadcasting in Botassium is the tool to use. Whether you're sending announcements, reminders, updates, or promotional content, this feature makes it easy to deliver WhatsApp messages to large audiences while respecting business rules and message types.
This guide explains how Broadcasting works and how to launch a customized campaign from start to finish.
Where to Access It
You can access the Broadcasting feature from the “Broadcasting” tab on your bot’s main page. This section displays all of your campaigns in a clear, filterable table, divided into four main views:
Scheduled Campaigns
In-Progress Campaigns
Paused Campaigns
Completed Campaigns
This helps you monitor status, analyze performance, and manage active campaigns.
Creating a New Broadcast Campaign
Click the “New Campaign” button to start setting up your message. A popup will appear asking for the following details:
1. Title
A required name for the campaign—useful for filtering and tracking later.
2. Date & Time
Schedule when the broadcast should start. You can pick a specific day and time to run the campaign.
Respect Business Hours
Toggle this on to restrict message delivery to specific hours.
When enabled, you’ll see two input fields where you can define:
Start Time (e.g., 09:00)
End Time (e.g., 18:00)
Messages outside these hours will be delayed and sent only during the allowed window.
3. Message
You can:
Use a pre-made template message from your Templates page
Or create a new message on the spot
4. Message Type
Botassium supports various WhatsApp message types:
Text: Simple text message
Media: Send images, videos, audio, or documents
Location: Share a mapped address
Contact: Send a WhatsApp contact card
Poll: Collect responses from multiple options
Buttons: Add up to 3 buttons (URL, call, or copy code)
List: WhatsApp lists with grouped, scrollable options
Each message type supports dynamic content, including variables pulled from contact lists or CRM fields.
5. Targets
Choose who will receive the message. You can broadcast to:
Groups: WhatsApp groups connected to your bot
Contacts: Filtered contacts from:
WhatsApp contact list
Botassium CRM
Custom pasted/imported lists (supports Excel import with variables)
Chats: One-on-one conversations, with country-based filters
For contacts, you can filter by:
Country
Contact source (WhatsApp, CRM, or Custom)
Custom lists can include extra columns (e.g., Name, Email, Promo Code), which can be printed dynamically in the message using variables like
{{name}}
,{{code}}
, etc.
6. Time Duration (Sleep Between Messages)
Two input fields define a randomized delay range in seconds between messages.
Example:
From:
2
To:
5
This will randomly wait between 2 to 5 seconds before sending each message, helping simulate human-like sending behavior and avoid spam flags.
7. Simulate Message Composing
Use this dropdown to choose a pre-send behavior, such as:
Typing…
Recording…
This makes the message feel more natural by simulating human interaction before delivery.
8. Terms & Conditions
To submit the campaign, you must check the Terms & Conditions box. This ensures you're agreeing to comply with WhatsApp's policies and Botassium’s sending rules.
Example Use Case
You’re running a flash sale and want to notify your VIP customers:
Create a new campaign titled
VIP Flash Sale – July 2
Set the date/time to send at 10:00 AM
Respect business hours from 09:00–18:00
Select a media message with product images and a CTA button
Target CRM contacts filtered by country =
UAE
and category =VIP
Set delay between 2–4 seconds
Enable typing simulation
Submit the campaign after accepting the terms
Botassium will handle the rest—sending messages according to your criteria and respecting limits.
The Broadcasting feature is ideal for marketing campaigns, appointment reminders, community updates, support follow-ups, and announcements—with full flexibility and built-in contact segmentation to maximize impact.
