How to Use the “Pin Chat” Action in Botassium
Need to keep high-priority conversations at the top of your WhatsApp inbox? The “Pin Chat” action in Botassium helps you automatically pin specific chats during an automation flow, so they stay visible and easily accessible.
This guide explains how to use it, and what to consider due to WhatsApp’s platform limitations.
What is the “Pin Chat” Action?
The Pin Chat node is an action that pins the current WhatsApp conversation to the top of your inbox. This is useful for:
Highlighting VIP customers or high-value leads
Keeping urgent support tickets at the top
Prioritizing sales conversations
Temporarily surfacing important workflows or deals
⚠️ WhatsApp allows only up to 3 pinned chats at any time. If all 3 slots are already in use, the newly pinned chat will replace the least recently pinned one.
How to Set It Up
Open or Create an Automation Flow
In your Botassium dashboard, go to Automations and select or build the flow where pinning is needed.Add the “Pin Chat” Node
Drag it into the desired step in your flow.Connect It Based on Priority Triggers
Use this after a specific condition, message, or label to mark high-priority users or events.
No further configuration is needed—once the node is triggered, the chat will be pinned instantly.
Example Use Case
You're running a high-ticket product launch and want to give special attention to interested leads. When a user asks a qualifying question:
A contextual message is detected
The Pin Chat action is triggered
Your sales team sees this chat at the top of the inbox and can respond faster
The Pin Chat action is available in all WhatsApp automation flows, and is especially helpful in priority lead handling, VIP support, urgent conversations, and sales follow-ups. Just remember to use it strategically due to WhatsApp’s 3-chat pin limit.
