How to Use the “Unpin Chat” Action in Botassium
Once a high-priority WhatsApp conversation has been handled, it may no longer need to stay at the top of your inbox. The “Unpin Chat” action in Botassium allows you to automatically remove a pinned conversation from the pinned section during your automation flow.
This guide explains how to use it to manage your pinned chats cleanly and efficiently.
What is the “Unpin Chat” Action?
The Unpin Chat node is an action that removes the current conversation from your list of pinned WhatsApp chats.
Use it when:
A priority task has been completed
A lead or customer has been handled and closed
You want to make room for new priority chats
You’re managing a rotating set of active conversations
WhatsApp allows a maximum of 3 pinned chats. Unpinning conversations when they’re no longer active helps free up those limited slots for others.
How to Set It Up
Open or Create an Automation Flow
In your Botassium dashboard, go to Automations.Add the “Unpin Chat” Node
Drag it into your flow at the point where the chat should be removed from the pinned list.Connect It After a Status Change, Condition, or Resolution
For example:After a support ticket is resolved
After a lead is marked as closed
After a time-based follow-up sequence is completed
The action is executed immediately and doesn’t require additional configuration.
Example Use Case
A VIP customer’s inquiry was pinned for fast handling. After the sales team confirms the order:
A condition node checks for successful transaction
The Unpin Chat action removes the conversation from the top of the inbox
Space is freed up for new incoming priorities
The Unpin Chat action works across all WhatsApp automation flows, and is ideal for closing out conversations, rotating high-priority chats, inbox organization, and automation-based task management.
