How to Use the “Delete Chat” Action in Botassium
In cases where you want to permanently clean up inactive, irrelevant, or test conversations, the “Delete Chat” action in Botassium allows you to automatically remove a WhatsApp conversation from your chat list entirely.
This guide explains how and when to use it in your automation flows.
What is the “Delete Chat” Action?
The Delete Chat node is an action that permanently deletes the current WhatsApp chat from your inbox. Once executed, the conversation will no longer appear in your chat list and cannot be recovered from within the app.
Use it when:
Cleaning up spam or unqualified leads
Removing conversations triggered by testing
Clearing chats that are no longer relevant
Managing inbox hygiene for long-running automations
This action affects only your Botassium-connected WhatsApp device—it does not delete messages from the user's end.
How to Set It Up
Open or Create a Flow
Go to the Automations tab in your Botassium dashboard.Add the “Delete Chat” Node
Drag and drop this action into your flow wherever you want a chat to be permanently removed.Use it After a Specific Condition or Label Check
You might trigger this action:After identifying a spam message
After a failed validation with no retries
When a contact unsubscribes or opts out
For test users or one-time interactions
No additional configuration is required—once triggered, the chat is deleted immediately.
Example Use Case
You run a lead generation campaign and use a condition node to detect unqualified leads based on their input:
The user submits an invalid response
A condition node checks the input
If invalid, the Delete Chat action is triggered to clean up your inbox
The Delete Chat action is available in all WhatsApp automation flows, and is especially useful for spam filtering, test cleanup, opt-out handling, and automated inbox management. Use it with care, as deleted chats cannot be restored.
