Schedule a Message

How to Use the “Schedule a Message” Action in Botassium
If you want to send a WhatsApp message later—rather than immediately—Botassium's “Schedule a Message” action lets you do exactly that. It works similarly to the Reply to Chat action but with added scheduling flexibility, making it ideal for timed follow-ups, reminders, or delayed responses.
What is the “Schedule a Message” Action?
The Schedule a Message node allows you to configure a WhatsApp message (text, media, location, contact card, or buttons) and send it after a specific delay—instead of immediately.
This is helpful when you want to:
Follow up with a lead after a set amount of time
Send appointment or payment reminders
Drip out content over a period
Create automated nurture sequences
How It Works
The configuration is almost identical to the Reply to Chat action, with the addition of these two fields:
1. Delay Amount
A number input that determines how long the system should wait before sending the message.
2. Time Unit
Choose between:
Minutes
Hours
Days
This gives you full control to schedule your message exactly when it makes the most sense in your automation flow.
For example, a delay of
2 Hours
can be used to send a follow-up message after a product inquiry.
Where to Manage Scheduled Messages
All messages created through the Schedule a Message action will appear in your Broadcasting tab, under the Scheduled Campaigns filter. This lets you:
Review what's queued for each contact
Cancel or edit upcoming messages
Track automation-driven campaigns separately from manual broadcasts
Example Use Case
A user requests a price quote. You immediately respond with details using a Reply to Chat action, then:
Use the Schedule a Message action with a delay of
1 Day
Send a follow-up: “Just checking in—are you ready to proceed with the order?”
This keeps your conversation active without manual intervention.
The Schedule a Message action is perfect for sales follow-ups, appointment reminders, abandoned cart messages, or re-engagement campaigns—anywhere timing matters in your WhatsApp automation strategy.
