How to Use the “Add Labels to Chat” Action in Botassium
To keep your WhatsApp chats organized and easily searchable, Botassium allows you to add custom labels to any contact or conversation. The “Add Labels to Chat” action lets you automatically apply one or more labels during your automation flow.
This guide shows you how to use this action to segment contacts, mark chat intent, or manage lead stages.
What is the “Add Labels to Chat” Action?
The Add Labels to Chat node is an automation action that assigns one or more labels to the active WhatsApp conversation. These labels help you:
Organize users by category (e.g., “Hot Lead”, “Support Request”, “Pending Payment”)
Filter chats in the inbox
Build targeted broadcast audiences
Trigger other actions based on label conditions
How to Set It Up
Go to Automations
In your Botassium dashboard, open or create a new automation flow.Add the “Add Labels to Chat” Node
Drag it into the desired point in your flow where labels should be assigned.Select One or More Labels
From the dropdown, choose the labels you want to apply to the conversation.Connect It to Any Event or Condition
You can apply labels after a specific message, when a user joins a group, or matches a context.
Example Use Case
You’re collecting leads through a WhatsApp ad. When a new contact messages you:
The New Ad Message Received event is triggered
The user is tagged with the “Facebook Lead” and “Needs Follow-up” labels using the Add Labels to Chat action
