How to Use the “Block Chat” Action in Botassium
If you're dealing with spam, harassment, or unwanted interactions on WhatsApp, Botassium allows you to take automated action. The “Block Chat” action enables your automation flow to block a contact, preventing them from sending further messages.
This guide walks you through how to use it safely and strategically.
What is the “Block Chat” Action?
The Block Chat node is an action that blocks the current contact from messaging your WhatsApp account. Once blocked:
The user’s messages will no longer be delivered
You will not receive notifications or updates from them
The chat will be restricted from future automation triggers
Use this action to:
Automatically block spam numbers
Handle abuse or policy violations
Enforce opt-out requests
Manage blacklists or restricted lists
⚠️ Blocking is permanent unless reversed manually from WhatsApp Web or mobile.
How to Set It Up
Open or Create a Flow
Navigate to the Automations tab in Botassium.Add the “Block Chat” Node
Drag it into your flow where a conversation should be ended and blocked.Connect It Based on Conditions
Example triggers include:The user sends prohibited words
A spam pattern is detected
A support form submission fails multiple times
The user explicitly asks to be removed or blocked
No additional setup is required. Once triggered, the contact is immediately blocked.
Example Use Case
A user sends repeated spam messages or offensive language:
A condition node checks message content
The Block Chat action is triggered automatically
The chat is blocked from all future communication and removed from active flows
The Block Chat action is available in all WhatsApp automation flows, and is especially useful for spam prevention, abuse control, policy enforcement, and maintaining a safe communication environment. Use it responsibly, as blocked users are fully restricted until manually unblocked.
