Labels are useful for organizing WhatsApp conversations—but just as important is the ability to remove them when they’re no longer relevant. The “Remove Labels from Chat” action in Botassium allows you to automatically clear one or more labels from a chat during your automation flow.
This guide explains how to use it to keep your chat labels clean and dynamic based on user behavior.
What is the “Remove Labels from Chat” Action?
The Remove Labels from Chat node is an action that deletes selected labels from the current WhatsApp conversation.
Use it to:
Clean up outdated or temporary labels (e.g., “New Lead”, “Waiting for Response”)
Update a user’s status in your flow
Transition contacts between pipeline stages
Maintain an accurate labeling system for filtering and segmentation
How to Set It Up
Open Your Automation Flow
In the Botassium dashboard, create or edit a flow where labels should be removed.Add the “Remove Labels from Chat” Node
Drag it into your flow at the point where a label is no longer needed.Choose One or More Labels to Remove
Use the dropdown to select the labels you want to remove. These should be labels that were previously added to the contact, either manually or through automation.Chain It After a Condition or Event
You can trigger this after:A user provides valid input
A status changes (e.g., payment confirmed)
A support case is closed
Example Use Case
A lead is initially tagged as “Awaiting Payment”. Once they complete the transaction:
A condition node detects the payment confirmation
The Remove Labels from Chat action removes the “Awaiting Payment” label
Optionally, a new label like “Paid Customer” is added right after
The Remove Labels from Chat action is available in all WhatsApp automation flows and is especially helpful for pipeline management, behavioral segmentation, customer lifecycle tracking, and inbox cleanup.
